1.What’s your current role, and what does a typical day look like?

I am a Data and Machining Technician, and my days are always fun and challenging. Almost every day, I participate in different activities, mainly solving machine-related problems or implementing data analysis projects.

2. What are some of the most rewarding aspects of your job?

My most rewarding aspect of the job is helping people solve problems, work safely, and be happier at their workplace.

3. What’s your go-to karaoke song, and why?

It is hard to tell. I love all kinds of music but am not good at singing. I’d say one song from The Beatles (my favourite band), it’s called “In My Life.”

4. If you could have any superpower, what would it be, and how would you use it?

Oh, there are many superpowers I wish I could have, depending on the day. Right now, I wish my superpower was to eat everything I want, stay healthy and not get fat.

5. Can you share a memorable project or accomplishment you’re particularly proud of?

I worked on a project back in my job that involved creating a Monitoring System to avoid unsafe conditions and conveyor belt damage in a mining industrial plant. After only three months of project implementation, we eliminated unsafe occurrences and reduced 67% of damage in all department conveyors.

At Tayco, I am working on an essential and rewarding project to complete the physical inventory process more effectively and integrate data into our systems. I am very proud of what we have achieved in this project.

6. What’s your favourite way to unwind after a busy day at work?

I like listening to my classical music playlist on my way home, walking my two little dogs (Poppy and Leia) with my wife, and talking about our plans.

7. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

I wish I could travel all around the world, but I especially wish I could visit Greece and see its ancient ruins.

8. What motivates you to do your best work?

All my life, I’ve been fortunate to know people who help me to do the best I can to learn every day, and I feel like part of this results from always doing my best to help people and do the highest quality work I can.

9. What’s one quirky habit or talent you have that most people don’t know about?

I have a postgraduate specialization in Philosophy, and my capstone project was about positive psychology and Arthur Schopenhauer’s philosophical work.

10. What’s the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had before this one?

I graduated as an Electronic Engineer and have worked for 23 years within the industry in several different and exciting companies. The most unusual job I had was some months ago, working in an industrial bakery as a baker’s assistant in Midtown. It was nice to learn all the baking processes for many of the daily products we consume at home.
