Employee Profile: Thiago Fernandes

Meet Thiago Fernandes, Tayco’s Employee Profile for December. Thiago recently joined Tayco as a Maintenance Technician. He has quickly demonstrated an exceptional willingness to learn and has shown the ability to work independently. He has been praised by his peers for his attitude and eagerness to help.

Thiago is constantly demonstrating Tayco’s core values and we feel very proud to have him as part of our Team.

Where are you from?

I was born in a small town in Brazil. The name of the city is Sao Jose dos Campos, in Sao Paulo state.

How many languages do you speak? What languages?

Portuguese, English, and Spanish. My next goal is French. This is not because I want to speak all languages, but because I like to learn new things.

What’s your favourite movie or tv show?

The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind is my favorite one. I also like to watch anything that makes me easily laugh.

If you could go on vacation anywhere in the world where would it be?

Well, I decided to live on my favorite place. I love camping, and Canada is my favorite place to do it. Wherever has a good lake to swim, a fire pit to barbecue, and a nice shade spot for the tent, this is the place I would go on vacation.

What motivates you to work hard?

The feeling of the accomplishment. You know that feeling you have after a day at work and you think…uhm, I did a good job today. I like that feeling. Also, I like to think I’m part of the Team, and as a Team we can go further together when everybody does their part.

What’s your favorite food of all time?

Barbecue. This is not just because of the meat, but everything that involves. Normally we have barbecues in the summertime while being at the beach or camping with family and friends. What else would be better than barbecue on this scenario?
