The Challenge
A prominent law firm in downtown Toronto, sought to revitalize their existing office space with a modern design that maximized functionality and encouraged staff to return to working in-office. Partnering with Tayco’s Dealer, Palmerston, the firm aimed to create an environment that optimized space efficiency, improved employee satisfaction, and supported productivity.
The firm required 22 private offices, a welcoming reception area, and 16 collaborative workstations, each with ample storage and wire management solutions. With a focus on functionality, they needed curated designs that reflected their professionalism while providing a comfortable and organized workspace for their Team.
The Solution
The new office space prioritized collaboration by equipping the 16 Switch Workstations with features typically found in functional private offices. Each workstation included integrated wire management, USB and power capabilities, and a Switch Tower and Ped Combo for ample storage. The white paint panel trims and Grain-Reticolo fabric created a clean, polished look, while the thoughtful design encouraged Teamwork without compromising individual productivity. These collaborative spaces seamlessly balanced functionality and openness, supporting the firm’s goal of optimizing usable space.
To encourage employees to return from home to the office, 22 private offices were thoughtfully curated and designed with a home-like feel, creating a welcoming environment. Using a combination of Halifax, Metro and custom items, each office demonstrated a feeling of individuality while also matching the office design. Freestanding desks and straight tables with modesty panels provided practical yet stylish work surfaces, while PET Felt Walls in Overcast offered sound-dampening and a modern touch. Storage needs were addressed with freestanding cabinets, low credenzas, and wardrobe cabinets with coat bars, ensuring employees had everything they needed within reach. An overall seamless aesthetic unified the entire office, with consistent finishes in Tofino melamine and vinyl used across all furniture, from reception to private offices. This cohesive design contributed to a calming, professional atmosphere that reflected the law firm’s values. The choice of neutral, serene colours helped maintain a collected environment while boosting morale and motivation. The result was a workspace that not only met functional needs but also enhanced employee satisfaction and added to the Client’s polished image.
