The Challenge

Tayco’s Dealer, Source Office Furniture and Systems Ldt, was tasked with expanding and enhancing the office space for Rochon building corp, a construction business experiencing significant growth. Rochon needed additional workstations to accommodate their increasing Team size. The challenge was to integrate more workstations into the existing office layout while creating collaborative spaces and well-equipped workstations that fostered Teamwork and productivity.

Rochon aimed for a sleek and modern office aesthetic, emphasizing a cohesive colour scheme and functional design. They needed to optimize space effectively, ensuring the new workstations and collaborative areas did not make the office feel cramped. The goal was to achieve a balance between style, functionality, and affordability without compromising on quality.

The Solution

The Client’s primary focus was optimizing the office layout to ensure a smooth flow while maintaining an open, airy atmosphere. To achieve this, , we integrated 23 Cosmo quad workstations with 90-degree planning capability. The cohesive colour scheme of Silver Moon melamine and vinyl throughout the office contributed to a sleek, modern aesthetic. This smart configuration balanced collaboration and privacy, ensuring a functional and visually appealing environment.

Low panels were selected allowing natural light to stream through the building’s glass exterior walls, creating a bright and welcoming environment. In specific areas like ACC and Payroll, we incorporated sliding doors into the Cosmo workstations, providing optional privacy and separation without the need for private offices. This setup enabled these Teams to focus on their tasks with minimal distractions while maintaining a unified and efficient office environment that promotes Teamwork and productivity.

Creating functional and collaborative meeting spaces was vital for Rochon. For the collaborative areas, two Halifax A-Leg meeting tables were designed in Fogo Harbour vinyl and melamine, complemented by brushed nickel metal handles, adding an elegant touch. Underdesk storage solutions further enhanced the functionality and clean design, creating a harmonious and professional atmosphere across the workspace.

For the boardroom, we installed one 144”W Norris boardroom table in Fogo Harbour vinyl and melamine, maintaining both functionality and style. To make sure each area was equipped with all their needs, the boardroom had underdesk pedestals to mirror the functionality of the workstations and private offices. These storage solutions were carefully chosen to maintain the clean and organized aesthetics of the office space.

 

Lastly, the three private offices were curated to match the feel of the entire office with the seamless colour pallet and ample storage options. Stunning Halifax freestanding tables were used in each office to incorporate the beautifully crafted design felt in the rest of the office.  A 36” freestanding storage cabinet was added in each office as well to increase the amount of privacy and personal storage space.

 

The Result

The implementation of these solutions at Rochon resulted in a significantly improved office space that met all their needs. The cohesive colour scheme created a modern and unified look, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the workspace. The space optimization strategies, particularly the use of Cosmo quad workstations, allowed for the addition of more workstations without making the office feel crowded. In addition, the functional meeting rooms and collaborative spaces facilitated effective Teamwork and communication.

Rochon expressed great satisfaction with the new office setup, appreciating the blend of style, functionality, and affordability. The seamless integration of the new workstations and collaborative areas not only improved the overall office environment but also boosted Team productivity and morale.
