Nova Scotia Pension Services Corporation

 

The Challenge

Nova Scotia Pension Services Corporation (NS Pension) is a non-profit corporation that provides a wide range of investment, pension administration, and compliance services for some of Nova Scotia’s leading pension plans. They were looking to outfit their new headquarters in Halifax with modern, stylish and versatile furnishings that elevated the space and conformed to their business functions.

NS Pension was looking for a Dealer with which they could form a partnership and who would work with them collaboratively. Their requirements included a Dealer that provided manufactured solutions that were modern, cost efficient and inviting for the staff. Upon reviewing the proposal from Tayco’s Dealer partner e3 Office Furniture, it became obvious that e3 Office Furniture was the vendor that could help them achieve their objectives.

The Solution

E3 Office furniture chose Tayco’s versatile 2” panel system, Switch to meet NS Pension’s needs with fabrics and finishes to compliment the already stunning space. The space featured large windows offering an extraordinary view of the Halifax Harbour and NS Pension wanted to ensure that the furniture did not interfere with the natural light and the view.  Through working with Commercial Space Designers, 66 Switch stations were chosen at 50” high with 16” high panel mounted clear tempered glass ensuring all employees had workstations with clear sightlines while maintaining acoustic privacy. Additionally, 18 private offices were outfitted with Scene. Warm colour tones were selected in Crosstown Tromp D’Oeil fabric and Mojave laminate for surfaces and storage. Silver panel trim was chosen to round out the classic look and feel.

In addition to the privacy and natural light requirements it was essential to have ergonomic and storage solutions to enhance the working experience of the NS Pension employees. Volley height-adjustable tables were specified for all private offices adding flexibility for workers. All workstations and private offices were also provided with cable and wire management and a personal storage tower in white laminate for extra connectivity, space and comfort. Finally, for formal meetings, a 20’ Norris boardroom in matching Mojave laminate was installed in the conference room, allowing the inviting feel and colour coordination to stretch through the entire office space.

The Result

The client had previously purchased Tayco products and selected to opt for Tayco products again for this head office. Tayco and e3 Office Furniture worked together to offer an excellent service while considering all the stylistic and functional needs of the client. Everything was ready on time and the client especially appreciated the training their staff received on ergonomics as part of the e3 Office Furniture service.
