Goree Case Study
The Challenge
Goree, an award-winning architectural and design firm headquartered in Houston, TX, outgrew their 8,000 square foot office and needed an upgrade for their ever-growing team. The firm chose Sage Plaza, a Class A building in the Uptown/Galleria submarket of Houston. Goree quickly went to work designing a space focused on collaboration and workspace flexibility. When the pandemic hit, Goree expanded the floor plan to it’s current 18,000 square foot footprint to allow more square footage per employee and decided to rethink the original design. The workstations were redesigned with easily cleanable surfaces and higher privacy panels to allow for more physical distancing. Additional huddle rooms were added for small group meetings and as alternative spaces for employees to work during the day.
The Solution
The office has 8 conference rooms ranging from traditional to more touch down style, several informal huddle rooms and spaces, two small phone booths, a wellness room, 9 private offices, 56 employee workstations, 4 intern stations, a large materials library for the interiors team, an admin breakroom, and a large employee lounge with a variety of seating and working areas employees can utilize throughout the day.
The workstations and private offices utilize Tayco furniture and feature height adjustable desks, storage towers including a closet and box file, tack boards, and ample desk space. The private offices have additional storage, floating shelves, larger tack boards, and a white board to write down ideas. Goree has been a longtime customer of Tayco and uses their products in many of their retail automotive facility designs. When the Wells Group recommended Tayco products for the office remodel it was a no brainer. Tayco helped early in the process to take the original design aesthetic and translate it using the appropriate Tayco products.
The Result
Goree had a very specific design in mind and had to use several custom solutions. Tayco rose to the challenge to give the firm a sophisticated yet casual design with the functionality and flexibility they needed. The custom workstations will not only act as a showroom of sorts for Goree clients but shows how Tayco’s products can adapt to future product offerings.
